SpiceJet will resume its flight services on Hyderabad-Pondicherry flights in January after the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) agreed to extend its support to SpiceJet.
According to a report published in The New Indian Express, the decision was taken after Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan requested the Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia, to restore direct flight services between Hyderabad and Puducherry.
The Centre’s support has been extended for SpiceJet to resume the services under the ‘Viability Gap Funding’.
In addition to requesting support for the resumption of Hyderabad-Puducherry flights, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan suggested that the Telangana Tourism Department should organise spiritual tours connecting Karaikkal, nearby famous Velankanni Church, Nagore Durgah and Tirunallar Saneeswar temple.
The department should also work towards promoting Telangana’s tourist attractions.
